Netflix is unwrapping a sleigh-full of films for Christmas this year, with new movies from Noah Baumbach, Guillermo del Toro and Alejandro G Iñárritu, not to mention Rian Johnson’s Knives Out sequel. They’re joined by a new take on Lady Chatterley’s Lover and A Christmas Carol, plus the return of Emily in Paris and the debut of a prequel to The Witcher.

Here’s what’s coming soon to Netflix UK in December 2022:

Archer: Season 13 – 1st December

In season 13 of the adult espionage comedy, The Agency have been acquired by the spy conglomerate known as IIA (International Intelligence Agency). As Archer and gang struggle to find their identity performing odd missions for Fabian, one question arises: will they be able to maintain independence, or will they succumb to their corporate overlords?

Scrooge: A Christmas Carol – 2nd December

Luke Evans lends his voice to this time-travelling musical animated adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic story.

Robert Downey Jr teams up with director Chris Smith for a portrait of the life and career of maverick filmmaker Robert Downey Sr.

The Boss Baby: Christmas Bonus – 6th December

Christmas Eve takes a twisty turn when the Boss Baby accidentally swaps places with one of Santa’s elves and gets stranded at the North Pole.

I Hate Christmas: Season 1 – 7th December

After lying to her family about having a boyfriend, a single nurse begins a desperate search to find a partner by Christmas — which is in 24 days.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio – 9th December

Guillermo del Toro’s stop-motion odyssey reinvents the classic tale of the wooden marionette who is magically brought to life in order to mend the heart of a grieving woodcarver named Geppetto.

Last Chance U: Basketball: Season 2 – 13th December

As another Husky hoop season begins at East Los Angeles College, Coach Mosley has a wealth of new talent — players who need tough love to move ahead.

Sonic Prime: Season 1 – 15th December

The adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog go into overdrive when a run-in with Dr. Eggman results in a literal universe-shattering event. Sonic races through the Shatter-verse, discovering strange worlds and enlisting new friends in the epic adventure of a lifetime.

Who Killed Santa? A Murderville Murder Mystery – 15th December

Senior Detective Terry Seattle (Will Arnett) is back and this time, the case is critical. Along with his two celebrity guest stars, Jason Bateman and Maya Rudolph, he is on a mission to figure out…who killed Santa? But here’s the catch: Bateman and Rudolph aren’t being given the script. They have no idea what’s about to happen to them. Together, with Terry Seattle (and many surprises), they will have to improvise their way through the case.

BARDO, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths – 16th December

Alejandro G Iñárritu directs an epic set against the intimate and moving journey of Silverio, a renowned Mexican journalist and documentary filmmaker living in Los Angeles, who, after being named the recipient of a prestigious international award, is compelled to return to his native country, unaware that this simple trip will push him to an existential limit. The folly of his memories and fears have decided to pierce through the present, filling his everyday life with a sense of bewilderment and wonder.

Emily in Paris: Season 3 – 21st December

After moving from Chicago to Paris for her dream job, Emily finds herself at a crucial crossroads in every aspect of her life. Faced with two very different paths, Emily will have to decide exactly where her loyalties lie — at work and in her romantic life — and what those decisions mean for her future in France, all while continuing to immerse herself in the adventures and surprising twists and turns that life in Paris provides.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery – 23rd December

Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc finds himself in an other star-studded murder mystery, joined by Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista.

The Witcher: Blood Origin: Season 1 – 25th December

Set in an elven world 1200 years before the time of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri, this four-part prequel series will tell a tale lost to history: the creation of the first prototype Witcher, and the events that led to the pivotal Conjunction of the Spheres, when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one. Michelle Yeoh stars.

White Noise – 30th December

Based on the book by Don DeLillo, Noah Baumbach’s White Noise dramatises a contemporary American family’s attempts to deal with the mundane conflicts of everyday life while grappling with the universal mysteries of love, death, and the possibility of happiness in an uncertain world. Starring Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig.
