What’s coming soon to Netflix UK in September 2021?

School’s back in session this September, with Netflix enrolling in another season of Sex Education – and keeping kids entertained between classes with a new season of Kid Cosmic and The Iron Giant. But there’s adult entertainment on offer too, from comedy-drama The Starling, 9/11 drama Worth and Mike Flanagan’s latest series to 1917, a focus on Malcolm X and The Farewell. And it’s a time to bid farewell to a raft of Netflix originals, including the final seasons of Money Heist, Lucifer, Dear White People and Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father.

The Iron Giant – 1st September

On the Verge: Season 1 – 7th September

Kid Cosmic: Season 2 – 7th September
The animated series follows the adventures of an imaginative and enthusiastic boy who lives with his free-spirited grandpa in a sparsely populated desert town. His dreams of being a hero seem to come true when he discovers 5 Cosmic Stones of Power in a wrecked spaceship. But when they send a signal out containing the whereabouts of the most powerful and desirable artefacts in the cosmos, the Earth becomes ground zero for an epic battle for ultimate power. To stop the alien onslaught, the kid gives the powerful rings to local heroes who become the good guys… even though they’re bad at it.
Octonauts: Above & Beyond: Season 1 – 7th September

Blood Brothers: Malcolm x Muhammad Ali – 9th September
The documentary feature is inspired by the book Blood Brothers: The Fatal Friendship Between Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X, written by Randy Roberts and Johnny Smith. Directed by Marcus A Clarke (Unsolved Mysteries, Rapture), the film aims to be the definitive documentary about the legendary icons, with never-before-seen archival footage.
The Women and the Murderer – 10th September
This documentary follows a police chief and a murder victim’s mother in their unflagging efforts to find and prosecute a serial killer in 1990s Paris.
LA’s Finest: Season 2 – 10th September

The Starling – 24th September

Midnight Mass: Season 1 – 24th September
