What’s coming soon to Netflix UK in February 2020?
James R | On 26, Jan 2020
Studio Ghibli. Those are the two words that sum up February on Netflix UK, as the streaming giant begins the gradual release of the Japanese anime studio’s masterpieces on any streaming platform for the first time. That on its own would be worth the price of a subscription, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg in a packed month of promising arrivals.
The month also sees the return of Altered Carbon, Narcos: Mexico, The Chef Show and Cable Girls for new seasons, and the debut of new originals Locke & Key, Spectros and an interactive Captain Underpants special. There’s also a selection of gems to catch if you missed elsewhere, including Pose and Lady Bird.
A sequel for To All the Boys PS I Still Love You promises to woo any user, while Pokémon fans will be racing to catch the latest animated movie from the Japanese mega-franchise. Mudbound director Dee Rees also makes a welcome return to Netflix with a film starring Anne Hathaway, Willem Dafoe, Toby Jones and Ben Affleck.
For those seeking weekly fixes, meanwhile, the return of RuPaul’s Drag Race is likely to warm anyone’s heart – the perfect antidote to the gradual suspense and tragic drama of Better Call Saul, back for its penultimate season – plus there’s more of Riverdale Season 4 to unravel. And did we mention Studio Ghibli?
