Netflix is taking a swing at the big screen this summer, with July bringing two movie sequels in the shape of The Old Guard 2 and Happy Gilmore 2. Plus there’s a slew of recent Hollywood hits, the final chapter of The Sandman and a UK hospital documentary series to get your pulse racing.

Here’s what’s coming soon to Netflix UK in July 2025:

The Old Guard 2 – 2nd July

Based on the graphic novel by Greg Rucka, The Old Guard follows a covert group of tight-knit mercenaries with a mysterious inability to die have fought to protect the mortal world for centuries. Directed by Victoria Mahoney, The Old Guard 2 finds Andy (Charlize Theron) and her team of immortal warriors – Nile (KiKi Layne), Joe (Marwan Kenzari), Nicky (Luca Marinelli) and James Copley (Chiwetel Ejiofor) – continuing their mission to protect the world, as a mysterious threat emerges that could jeopardise everything Andy’s worked towards. And sothey enlist the help of Tuah (Henry Golding), an old friend who may provide the key to unlocking the mystery behind immortal existence.

The Sandman: Season 2, Part 1 – 3rd July

This fantasy epic is set in the dangerous realm of the Dreaming. The series follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic — and human – mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.

We Live in Time – 5th July

Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh are a natural fit in this hugely moving, funny and utterly disarming romance.

Too Much: Season 1 – 10th July

Megan Stalter stars in Lena Dunham’s rom-com as Jessica, a New York workaholic reeling from a broken relationship. Her only solution is to take a job in London, where she plans to live a life of solitude like a Bronte sister. But when she meets Felix (Will Sharpe) — a walking series of red flags — she finds that their unusual connection is impossible to ignore, even as it creates more problems than it solves.

Oppenheimer – 12th July

Christopher Nolan’s daunting, harrowing epic about the Manhattan Project is a towering achievement.

Critical: Between Life and Death: Season 1 – 23rd July

From critical emergencies to the operating room, this documentary series follows London’s trauma centres as they treat the most severely injured.

Happy Gilmore 2 – 25th July

Adam Sandler returns to reprise his role as Happy Gilmore in this golfing comedy sequel.
