Star Trek: First Contact – 30th June

The best of the Next Generation films sees Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) and his crew trying to stop the Borg, who have travelled back in time to the mid-21st century and are trying to interfere with humanity’s historic discovery of warp travel and first contact with extraterrestrial life. Watch out for two other Star Trek films about to set phasers to “bye” on the same date: Generations and Insurrection.

Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie – 3rd July

Stuffed with imagination and silliness, this childlike superhero comedy is an absolute delight.

Girls Trip – 3rd July

Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish star in this raucous comedy about four friends who go on a work vacation to New Orleans, where one is a keynote speaker at a festival.

Shin Godzilla – 4th July

Bureaucracy is the real enemy in this uneven but entertaining Godzilla reboot.
