Power Book II: Ghost will be back on our screens this November, STARZ has confirmed, as the show returns for Season 2.
The series picks up where the original series, Power, left off, starring Mary J Blige, Cliff “Method Man” Smith as defence lawyer Davis MacLean and several members of the original Power cast. Season 1 saw Blige reprise her role as queenpin Monet Stewart Tejada, alongside other familiar faces (including Michael Rainey Jr as Tariq St Patrick). Season 1 garnered 8.4 million multi-platform viewers in its premiere week, becoming the most-watched new series premiere on STARZ. Power Book II: Ghost also became STARZPLAY’s most successful launch ever in the UK.
Season 2 begins with Tariq St Patrick still running from a legacy that haunts him. Forced into the choice to take the life of his professor, Jabari Reynolds, Tariq finds himself drifting further from that which he’s been fighting to protect: his family. With Tasha in witness protection, Tariq knows he must sacrifice anything to save what’s left of his family.
Unable to do it alone, he turns to those wielding power and influence: Davis MacLean and his new partner, Cooper Saxe, as well as Rashad Tate. All of these options come with a steep price, so it’s back to business with the Tejadas. However, with two murders involving Stansfield, Monet Tejada has to question if Tariq is what’s best for her family as she seeks to protect her nephew’s professional basketball prospects at all costs. Her kids, Dru and Diana, question her moves as she grows more distracted, especially when Monet goes as far as trusting Cane again despite his actions against the family.
Season 2 premieres on 21st November, with episodes then arriving weekly. Here’s the trailer:
Power Book II: Ghost is available to watch online in the UK on STARZPLAY, a streaming service that costs £4.99 a month. The platform is available on iOS, Android, Apple TV and Virgin Media On Demand or through Amazon Prime Video Channels, as an add-on subscription to your existing account.

Power Book II: Ghost will return this December, STARZ has confirmed, as the show resumes its first season.
The series picks up where the original series, Power, left off, starring Mary J. Blige, Cliff “Method Man” Smith as defence lawyer Davis MacLean and several members of the original Power cast. Blige reprises her role as queenpin Monet Stewart Tejada, alongside other familiar faces (including Michael Rainey Jr as Tariq St. Patrick).
The series garnered 8.4 million multi-platform viewers in its premiere week back in September, becoming the most-watched new series premiere on STARZ. Power Book II: Ghost also became STARZPLAY’s most successful launch ever in the UK. In the first five weeks after premiere in the UK, over 400 per cent more viewers have watched “Power Book II: Ghost” than the prior top performer, and the series garnered unprecedented in season viewership growth that included a 50 per cent increase between Episode 1 and 5, setting the all-time streaming record for an episode in its first week on the service.
The debut run for the spin-off, however, was cut short in October, a month after its debut, due to production being halted by the coronavirus pandemic earlier this year. Now, STARZ has confirmed that, with production resumed, the next five episodes are on their way to our screens, kicking off on Sunday 6th December. Episodes will then arrive weekly.
