STARZPLAY is coming to Virgin Media this month, bringing a host of STARZ exclusives to Virgin’s on-demand customers.

The streaming service, which is currently available in the UK through Amazon Channels, offers access to a vast library of Starz origials and exclusives, including popular series such as Vida, Sweetbitter, The White Princess and Mr. Mercedes. The service costs £4.99 a month and also includes an extensive movie library featuring favourites such as The Hunger Games.

Now, it’s expanding its UK present by arriving on Virgin TV, who can add a £4.99 monthly STARZPLAY subscription to their package. STARZPLAY can then be accessed by pressing Home on their V6 remote control and then clicking On Demand followed by Box Sets.

David Bouchier, Chief Digital Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media adds: “The launch of STARZPLAY on Virgin TV will give our customers access to even more brilliant box-sets, amazing movies and gripping TV series such as ‘The White Princess’ and ‘Mr. Mercedes.’ This exciting addition to our platform means Virgin TV customers will be able to enjoy new STARZ content as it launches in the US.”

The launch arrives just in time for Season 2 of Counterpart, starring JK Simmons. The show, which enjoyed an acclaimed run in the USA, is a gripping, mind-bending thriller that explores the border between two parallel dimensions and the shady organisation that attempts to police the information – and people – who cross the border in the middle. If their world is like ours, who are we over there? Are we better? Are we different?

Season 2 premieres on Sunday 9th December at 9 PM ET/PT on STARZ in the U.S. and will be available on STARZPLAY on the same day in the UK.
