Kiefer Sutherland heads to Quibi this August in a new remake of The Fugitive – and we’ve now got our first look at the series in action.
Sutherland plays Clay Bryce, the cop tracking down the titular fugitive, Mike Ferro. Narcos veteran Boyd Holbrook plays the innocent man on the run, who is desperate to clear his name. The remake begins with a bomb tearing through the LA subway, and Ferro, who is caught in the blast on the train, wants to make sure his wife and daughter are OK.
The series is based on the classic TV show by Roy Huggins, which was famously remade into a feature film in 1993 starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. It’s the second small screen remake of the franchise, following an update in 200 for CBS, which made it to one season. This incarnation hails from Nick Santora, the creator of Most Dangerous Game and co-exec-producer of Prison Break.
Stephen Hopkins directs, and also exec-produces alongside Santora, Basil Iwanyk, Tom Lassally and Albert Torres. In front of the camera, Sutherland and Holbrook are joined by Natalie Martinez, Tiya Sircar, Brian Geraghty, Genesis Rodriguez Glenn Howerton and Keilani Arellanes.
The show premieres on 3rd August on Quibi, which costs £7.99 a month. Episodes will be released on weekdays, in 10-minute chunks.
