Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth are teaming up to star in Lonely Planet for Netflix.

Academy Award winner Laura Dern (Jurassic World Dominion, The Son, Little Women, Marriage Story) and Liam Hemsworth (Poker Face, Isn’t It Romantic, Arkansas, The Hunger Games) will star opposite each other in the film, which is a love story set in Morocco.

Susannah Grant (Confirmation, Erin Brockovich, Catch & Release, The Soloist) will write and direct the film. She will also produce alongside Sarah Timberman and Liza Chasin for 3dot Productions.

The project marks a reunion between Grant and Netflix, with the writer-director having previously co-created the drama series Unbelievable alongside Ayelet Waldman, and Michael Chabon, as well as exec-producing it and serving as showrunner.

The film also continues Netflix’s creative partnership with Liza Chasin’s 3dot Productions, which has a first-look deal with the streamer to produce feature films. Chasin launched 3dot productions in 2018 after a 26-year stint at Working Title Films, where she served as the president of US Production.
