Trailer: Riverdale Season 6 set for November debut

Riverdale is back on our screens this week for a sixth season, and a new trailer gives us a sneak peek of what to expect.
Based on the characters from the Archie Comics, The CW’s series is a bold and subversive take on the town of Riverdale and some of its teen residents, including Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead as they discover the darkness and dangers that bubble underneath their town’s wholesome facade.
Season 6 follows the explosive finale of Season 5, with everything as it should be. Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Reggie (Charles Melton) are the town’s power couple and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Tabitha (Erinn Westbrook) are moving in together. But with Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) demanding a return to the “old ways”, the serenity will surely not last – especially for Archie (KJ Apa) and Betty (Lili Reinhart).
Co-starring Vanessa Morgan, Casey Cott, Drew Ray Tanner and Madchen Amick, the season’s first episode is written by showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who already has big plans for the upcoming season – including the appearance of Sabrina the teenage witch from his other Riverdale spin-off, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. While the teen witch drama ended after two seasons and a Christmas special, Kiernan Shipka will appear in Episode 4 of Riverdale Season 6 (The Witching Hour), which will see Cheryl attempting to perform a dangerous spell.
Find out more when Season 6 premieres on Netflix UK on Wednesday 17th November, within 24 hours of its US debut. Episodes then arrive weekly.
Riverdale is available on Netflix UK, as part of an £9.99 monthly subscription.
Kiernan Shipka’s Sabrina joins Riverdale Season 6
7th October 2021
Sabrina the teenage witch is coming back to our screens once again – and we don’t mean the 1990s series that recently got added to Amazon Prime Video. Kiernan Shipka’s Sabrina, of Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, will return once more for The CW’s sister show, Riverdale.
Given that Chilling Adventures began as a spin-off from Riverdale, it’s only natural Greendale’s most famous resident should cross over into the neighbouring town – and it’s something that fans have been hoping for ever since Netflix ended the teen witch drama after two seasons and a Christmas special, not least because the shows share a showrunner in Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
She won’t be the visitor to cross the town lines, with Greendale high school bully Reggie previously appearing in Riverdale. But now, it’s actually happening in Episode 4 of Riverdale Season 6, titled The Witching Hour, which sees Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) attempting to perform a dangerous spell.
Aguirre-Sacasa told EW in a statement: “We’ve been talking about having Sabrina visit Riverdale since Season 1, so it’s thrilling that this is finally happening, as part of our Rivervale special event. It’s also perfect that she shows up to help Cheryl Blossom during her hour of greatest need. Everyone on set lost their minds – I think fans will, too. It’s really fun and special.”
That certainly seems to be the case judging by the reaction online, after Shipka shared a photo of her on the set of Riverdale. “From Greendale to Riverdal. See u in Season 6,” she wrote.
