Altitude will release Bryan Fogel’s The Dissident on Amazon Prime Video in the UK this April.
The documentary from the helmer of the Academy Award-winning Icarus examines the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. The investigation plays out at the highest levels of power as it exposes the deceit behind Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s murder in the Saudi Embassy in Istanbul. Offering a wealth of never-before-seen footage and unprecedented access to those closest to the story The Dissident is a story of money, tyranny and technology.
Uncovering truth after truth, The Dissident illustrates a modern world where those against powerful forces are never truly safe.
The film had its UK premiere at the Glasgow Film Festival earlier this month, and has since been nominated for Best Documentary at the 2021 BAFTAs.
“Bryan Fogel’s follow-up to Icarus is a gripping, alarming watch,” we wrote in our review.
The film will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in the UK and Ireland on 1st April. It joins a wave of high-profile films premiering on Amazon Prime Video next month, including Palm Springs, Sound of Metal and The Mauritanian.
