BBC Three renews Hot Property for Season 2

BBC Three has renewed Hot Property for a second season.
Yung Filly will return to the online channel for a shot at helping young daters find love through their flats. The recommission follows a successful first season, with 70 per cent of requests on iPlayer coming from signed-in accounts aged 16-34.
Season 1 saw eight singletons team up with Filly to snoop around the homes and meet the mates of three potential suitors, before choosing one to go on a blind date with. But as ever the path to true love never runs smooth, and while some rooms left them desperate to know more, others harboured secrets no one wants to find, from sardines under the bed to old love notes from an ex…
“This is great fun and the format is a lot fresher than most of the musty drawers that the contestants are invited to ransack,” we wrote in our review of the show.
Filly says: “I’m absolutely gassed for season two of Hot Property. The first one allowed me to meet so many different people and also make so many friends. This time I’ll be back with even more vibes, more humour, more energy and more laughter… can’t wait!”
Fiona Campbell, Controller of BBC Three, says: “With its simple format and the infectious Yung Filly as our host, Hot Property was hugely successful with bringing a young audience to BBC Three. We’re really excited to travel across the country for more match-making and to work with him again for series two.”

Hot Property: BBC Three teams up with Yung Filly for property dating show
4th October 2018
BBC Three is teaming up with rising online star Yung Filly for Hot Property, a brand new dating series.
The show gives young people looking for love the chance to snoop around the homes and meet the mates of potential dates, all to decide whether or not they should go on a first date with someone without having met them. The house we live in and the people we surround ourselves with are two of the most outward expressions of ourselves. So while dating apps will give you a physical picture of a person, the series explores how much more you can learn about someone’s personality and how compatible you might be from nothing more than a rummage around and a chat with their nearest and dearest.
Known for his raw, unfiltered approach to comedy and music, Yung Filly will host the programme, showing a singleton a possession owned by five potential dates in each episode, helping them to build a first impression of each person and whittle the options down to three. Yung Filly then guides them around the homes of their three chosen suitors, uncovering the good, the bad and the downright weird, in the hope of finding ‘the one’ within the mix. Together with Yung as their trusted wingman, they will go through the keyhole, into the drawers and under the bed to discover as much as they can about each person by looking at how they live, and to ultimately choose two to keep in the running.
Once the snooping is over, there are bound to be as many questions as there are answers, and to help with the final decision there will be an opportunity to meet the person closest to each of the remaining love rivals. Whether it’s the best mate, the business partner, or even the mum, the most burning questions will be asked and secrets will be inevitably be spilled, before one suitor is chosen for a date.
Filly says: “I’m so excited for the show and can’t wait to start filming. I feel like the show is right for me, and I’ve always wanted to showcase my talent and show everyone what I can do. The production team are amazing, and one of the main things I’m excited for is to have the opportunity to be myself on a mainstream platform like BBC Three.”
Damian Kavanagh, Controller BBC Three, adds: “Hot Property is a new, original take on relationships that peeks behind the curtain at the way young people in the UK are living today. We knew from the pilot that we had a great show on our hands and we’re really excited to bring it to series and to be working with Yung Filly, who is new talent for the channel and will bring a fresh, new outlook and energy to BBC Three.”
Hot Property was commissioned by Damian Kavanagh, Controller of BBC Three, and the Executive Producers are Jo Smith and Max Gogarty for BBC Three In-house Production. Eight 20-minute episodes have been ordered.
