What’s leaving Sky and NOW TV in November / December 2016?
David Farnor | On 15, Nov 2016
With those cold winter nights drawing in, it’s the perfect time to sit down under a duvet on the sofa and watch a good movie. But in this world of ever-shifting streaming rights and rights windows, what you want to watch isn’t necessarily always available, as new titles arrive every month and older titles leave. Sky Cinema and NOW is no exception. And so, as December looms, this is your last chance to stream the following…
Interstellar – 20th November
What’s the secret to interstellar travel? Christopher Nolan can’t decide if it’s gravity, love or something else entirely in this muddled sci-fi epic, which stars Jessica Chastain, Sandra Bullock and Matthew McConaughey, but the visuals and world-building on display are undeniably beautiful to witness.
Blackhat – 21st November
The word “cyber-thriller” sounds as dated as it can get, but Michael Mann’s film, which stars Chris Hemsworth as a hacker released from jail by the FBI to help track down another, more dangerous, keyboard-baser, feels grippingly modern thanks to its cool, digital direction.
Kingsman: The Secret Service – 23rd November
Taron Egerton and an impeccably-dressed Colin Firth stars in Matthew Vaughn’s comedy spy thriller, which sees a young tearaway recruited to Britain’s secret secret service, just as a tech genius (Samuel L Jackson) plans to take over the world.
Selma – 30th November
David Oyelowo is unrecognisable as Martin Luther King in this stirring, powerful drama following his historic march for voting rights in Alabama in 1965.
