The conflict climaxes when the trio visit the vacation home of Nicolas’ mother.

A Dangerous Method – 30th August

Keira Knightley, Michael Fassbender and Viggo Mortensen are fantastic in David Cronenberg’s drama about Jung, Freud and a woman caught between the two intellects.

What We Did on Our Holiday – 31st August

Rosamund Pike and David Tennant are on charming form in this underrated, Outnumbered-esque comedy about a troubled couple, who try to put on a happy face while visiting family in the Scottish Highlands – but their three children innocently reveal all of their biggest secrets.

The Gift – 31st August

Joel Edgerton’s psychological thriller, starring Jason Bateman and Rebecca Hall, is a gripping and endlessly surprising gem.

Calista Flockhart is iconic in David E. Kelley’s definitive legal drama.

No Country for Old Men – 1st September

If these names are ringing bells, you’re likely a fan of Josh Schwartz’s seminal noughties teen drama, The OC, which introduces us to the affluent world of Newport Beach, where the masterfully-eyebrowed Sandy Cohen (a lawyer) takes in hot-headed Ryan from the streets to live with the geeky Seth Cohen.

Denis Villeneuve’s remarkable sci-fi sequel is a profound evolution of the timeless original.

Begin Again – 18th September

Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo are on charming form in this musical comedy from Once director John Carney.

A Winter’s Tale – 18th September

Colin Farrell stars in this barmy fantasy about a thief raised by a demon (Russell Crowe), who falls in love with an heiress (Jessica Brown Findlay) and finds himself having to fight for his life against Lucifer, who is played by Will Smith. We’ll pause for a minute to let that sentence sink in. A joyous contender for the best worst film of recent years.

Life (2017) – 18th September

Grim and gripping, this lean, mean sci-fi horror brings new terror to old tricks.

The Divergent Series – 19th September

Fans of the young adult franchise will need to get their binge on if they want to catch all three entries in this dystopian trilogy.
