Zac Efron is reuniting with Disney for a remake of Three Men a Baby.
The hit comedy from 1984 starred the iconic trio of Tom Selleck, Ted Danson and Steve Guttenberg as three bachelors whose flat-sharing lifestyle was given a shock when an infant fathered by Danson’s character arrived on their doorstep.
Written by Jim Cruickshank and James Orr, it was inspired by the 1985 French film Trois hommes et un Couffin and spawned a sequel, Three Men and a Little Lady, released in 1990.
Several decades later, the premise is getting a reworking once again, with Disney greenlighting the project for its streaming service Disney+. The film is written by Will Reichel and produced by Gordon Gray (The Rookie, Finding the Way Back). While there’s no director attached just yet, Disney has already found its star: Zac Efron.
A former face of Disney, Efron broke on to the world stage with High School Musical and has since graduated to more adult fare, including The Greatest Showman and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Efron is no stranger to streaming, meanwhile, having just exec-produced and presented his own Netflix documentary series, Down to Earth.
