Once Upon a Time Season 7 to air on Netflix UK in October

Once Upon a Time Season 7 will air on Netflix UK this October.
ABC’s fantasy series sees Mary (Ginnifer Goodwin) drawn to the small Maine town of Storybrooke, where elements of the fairy tale universe seep into the modern, real world. That, it turns out, is because the Evil Queen Regina (Lana Parrilla) has sent everyone from the Enchanted Forest to the Land Without Magic after wiping their memories with a curse from – yes – Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle). Stories unfold through flashbacks to characters’ former lives, which tend to parallel action in the present day, gradually piecing together the whole mystery of each person’s identity.
ABC’s show has been a success since it first premiered back in 2011. Channel 5 broadcast the first two seasons in the UK, but then dropped the series in 2013. Luckily, Netflix UK stepped in to stream the programme exclusively. In 2017, the show once again returns to Netflix to make its UK debut. After several years of expanding its universe, though, with characters from Frozen, Brave and more, Season 7 is hitting the reboot button.
The 22-episode run, which was ordered back in May, will see just three of the Season 6 regulars fully back in action: Lana Parrilla’s Evil Queen, Robert Carlyle’s Rumplestiltskin, and Colin O’Donoghue’s Captain Hook.
That means we bid farewell to Ginnifer Goodwin’s Snow White, Josh Dallas’s Prince Charming, Emilie de Ravin’s Belle, Jared S Gilmore’s Henry Mills and Rebecca Mader’s Wicked Witch of the West. That also means no more Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan. Fans worried that means an unhappy ending for Hook and Emma, though, were reassured by O’Donoghue, who told TV Guide: “We saw at the end of last season, Hook and Emma got married and it was a happy beginning as they called it, and they are happy together. That’s a definite, for the fans that are concerned about that; Hook and Emma are happy together. The Hook that we meet in Season 7 is different than that Hook, and we will address Hook and Emma I think around Episode 2 of the show.”
As Season 7 picks up after a time jump, the new series regulars will include Andrew J West as Adult Henry Mills, Alison Fernandez as Lucy, Gabrielle Anwar as Lady Tremaine and Dania Ramirez as Cinderella.
The show premieres on ABC in a new Friday night slot, starting Friday 6th October. That means you can expect episodes on Netflix UK every Saturday within 24 hours of its US broadcast, station 7th October. Watch this space for officially confirmation of that date, or announcements of any changes.
