Vimeo has updated its mobile app to allow users to watch purchases on the move.
Vimeo On Demand has long been a part of Vimeo’s video platform, allowing creators to sell their work directly to audiences. Purchases, though, were not available to stream on phones or tablets – until now.
Vimeo recently updated its iOS and Android apps, but that feature remained elusive. Now, though, the company has stepped up its streaming game so that purchases are easy to find, watch and store on mobile devices.
Purchases are still made via mobile web browsers, desktops or – thanks to a recent update – through the Vimeo app on Roku devices, although users can browse Vimeo On Demand to find titles and bookmark the ones they like. Once purchased, Vimeo they can go to the “Library” option on their mobile app and find all their purchases ready to watch. Simply tap a video and it will then be made available offline, downloaded for watching wherever, without the need for Wi-Fi or mobile data.
The upgraded app is available now on iOS and Android devices.
