Trailer: Feel Good Season 2 set for June release

“I fell in love. Hard.” Feel Good is returning to our screens sooner than you might expect, with Season 2 set to debut on Netflix this June – and a new trailer gives us a first look at what’s in store.
The comedy, which debuted on Channel 4 before being picked up by the streamer, follows Mae (played by Mae Martin), a rising talent on the stand-up circuit and recovering addict whose addictive behaviours and intense romanticism dominate every single part of her life. When she meets pragmatic – but so far heterosexual – George (Charlotte Ritchie), she’s smitten, and, much to her surprise, George feels the same.
Season 1 saw them embark on an intoxicating romance as Mae juggled relationships with her parents, fellow addicts in a drugs support group, her colleagues at the local comedy club, and tried to transform her relationship with George from an addictive one to a healthy one.
“Mae Martin’s raw study of dependency and love is funny, honest, moving and thoughtful telly,” we wrote in our review.
Now the second and final season is on the way, with Mae trying to reconnect with George, only to realise that she’ll have to face her past in order to move forward. As Mae struggles to come to terms with the ghosts haunting her and George tries to reinvent her present, can they grow together or will they grow apart?
New cast members for Season 2 include Anthony Head, Jordan Stephens, John Ross Bowie and Eleanor Matsuura. You can see them all in action on 4th June, when the season premieres on Netflix.

Feel Good returns for Season 2 on Netflix
4th December 2020
Feel Good is officially returning to our screens for a second season – but it won’t be on Channel 4.
The sitcom follows Mae (played by Mae Martin), a rising talent on the stand-up circuit and recovering addict whose addictive behaviours and intense romanticism dominate every single part of her life. When she meets pragmatic – but so far heterosexual – George (Charlotte Ritchie) she’s smitten, and, much to her surprise, George feels the same. They embark on an intoxicating romance as Mae juggles relationships with her parents, fellow addicts in a drugs support group, her colleagues at the local comedy club, and tries to transform her relationship with George from an addictive one to a healthy one. Can Mae replace a toxic addiction to love with love itself?
The series aired on Channel 4 in the UK earlier this year.
“Mae Martin’s raw study of dependency and love is funny, honest, moving and thoughtful telly,” we wrote in our review of Season 1.
While the show was a co-production between the broadcaster and Netflix, however, only Netflix is moving forward with the second run. The streamer has commissioned Season 2 from Objective Fiction, but there will not be a third season.
Martin announced production was underway on Season 2 on social media.
“A lot of time when we see addiction represented on TV, it’s shown as this really dark, harrowing experience, which it can be,” she said in the video. “But a lot of us have had the experience of doing something compulsively despite it having negative consequences. I think it’s important to show the mundanity of addiction and the universality of that experience.”
Filming is currently taking place in London. Stay tuned for confirmation of Season 2’s worldwide release date on Netflix.

Trailer: Mae Martin plays Mae Martin in Netflix’s Feel Good
19th February 2020
Mae Martin will play a version of herself in Netflix and Channel 4’s new comedy series, Feel Good.
The sitcom follows Mae, a rising talent on the stand-up circuit and recovering addict whose addictive behaviours and intense romanticism dominate every single part of her life.
But the real question is can Mae replace a toxic addiction to love with love itself? A personal story of two young people trying to form a meaningful connection in the modern-day landscape of love, addiction and sexuality, Feel Good co-stars Lisa Kudrow and Sophie Thompson.
Written and created by Mae Martin and Joe Hampson, it’s directed by Ally Pankiw and produced by Kelly McGolpin, with Ben Farrell, Ally Pankiw, Hannah Mackay and Toby Stevens on board as exec-producers.
The series premieres on 19th March. Here’s the trailer:
