Netflix is now available on TalkTalk.

TalkTalk TV customers with a Netflix subscription can now access the VOD service’s range of shows and movies on the telly through their set top box.

YouView from TalkTalk homes that pre-registered for Netflix will be amongst the first to receive the service. The roll out will continue until the end of the month, with all 1.2m TalkTalk TV homes having access to Netflix by the end of the month.

The agreement is the latest in a string of team-ups for Netflix, which joined BT TV last year and has arrived on standalone YouView boxes too. For the VOD company, it is something of a no-brainer, as they seek to extend their coverage across the UK. “By partnering with TalkTalk we’re making it even easier for many TV fans and movie lovers in Britain to watch Netflix on their television screens,” says Bill Holmes, the streaming service’s global head of business development.

It is an even more significant development, though, for TalkTalk.

Over the past 12 months, TalkTalk TV has completed a YouView shareholders agreement for a further five years, extended its partnership with Sky for wholesale premium content and added Sky entertainment channels into its bolt-on monthly packages.

Last week, TalkTalk also acquired pay as you go digital movie and TV service blinkbox, a deal that will accelerate development of TalkTalk TV by delivering key services significantly faster, such as a TV app to customers for in and out of home viewing on multiple devices.
