Netflix is shining a spotlight on Canvas, a new animated short, this December and a trailer gives us our first look at the film.
The short tells the story of a grandfather who is trying to regain his inspiration after suffering a loss. He is sent into a downward spiral and loses his inspiration to create. Years later, he decides to revisit the easel, and pick up the paint brush, but he can’t do it alone.
The film is directed by Frank E Abney III, who has worked on a number of major animated features, including Soul, Onward and Toy Story 4. Produced by Paige Johnstone, with character design by TB Choi and Randy Bishop, the project started life on Kickstarter, with more than $60,000 raised for the film back in March 2019.
Now, it’s being released on Netflix, with the film set to premiere worldwide on 11th December. Here’s the rather beautiful trailer:
Canvas is available on Netflix UK, as part of an £9.99 monthly subscription.
