Paramount+ will be hoping to let the right remake in this October, with the debut of new series Let the Right One In.
The 10-part series, inspired by the hit Swedish novel and film, stars Demián Bichir (A Better Life),Anika Noni Rose (Dreamgirls, Power) and Grace Gummer (Mr. Robot). It follows Mark (Bichir) and his daughter, Eleanor (Baez), whose lives were changed 10 years earlier when she was turned into a vampire. Locked in at age 12, perhaps forever, Eleanor lives a closed-in life, able to go out only at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the human blood she needs to stay alive.
The series is not the first take on John Ajvide Lindqvist’s 2004 novel, with a US remake from Matt Reeves in 2010 following Tomas Alfredson’s 2008 Swedish movie. This new adaptation is exec-produced by playwright, writer and producer Andrew Hinderaker (Away, Penny Dreadful) who serves as showrunner, with Seith Mann (Homeland, #FreeRayshawn, Raising Dion) directing the pilot and multiple episodes.
The series also stars Madison Taylor Baez (Selena: The Series), Kevin Carroll (Snowfall), Ian Foreman (Merry Wish-Mas), Jacob Buster (Colony) and Nick Stahl (Fear the Walking Dead). You can see them in action on 8th October, when the series premieres on Paramount+ UK.
