“I’d say we’re doing pretty great. Things are finally kind of normal…” That’s the sound of Locke & Key coming back for one last chapter, as Netflix’s dark comic book adaptation finds fresh danger and peril.
The series follows three siblings who, after the murder of their father, move to their ancestral home only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. But as the Locke children explore the mysterious objects, a demon awakens – and will stop at nothing to steal them.
Season 3 sees the Locke family uncover a new threat with plans of his own for the keys – including, crucially, one that holds the power of time travel. You can see the ominous end result on 10th August, when Season 3 premieres on Netflix:

After two seasons, it has been confirmed that the programme will conclude with its third chapter – although the three-season arc was apparently all part of the plan since the beginning.
Executive producers and co-showrunners Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill told Deadline: “Once we began working on the series, we felt three seasons was the ideal length to bring the story of the Locke family and their Keyhouse adventures to a satisfying conclusion. As storytellers, we are grateful that we had the opportunity to tell our version of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s incredible story exactly the way we wanted. We’re keeping the magical keys, though, for our own personal use.”
Season 3 was filmed back to back with Season 2, with the sophomore run released by Netflix in October 2021. The final eight-episode season is expected to arrive on Netflix later this year.
