The House: Netflix opens doors on surreal animated anthology

Three visionary tales, one unusual anthology. Netflix is teaming up with the leading voices in independent stop motion animation for The House.
Originating at BAFTA-winning Nexus Studios, the eccentric comedy will present three surreal tales of individuals who have made the titular house their home. Emma de Swaef & Marc James Roels (This Magnificent Cake!) will direct the first chapter of The House. Swedish director and animator Niki Lindroth von Bahr (The Burden) will direct the second chapter. Paloma Baeza (Poles Apart) will also direct a chapter.
The voice talent is equally intriguing. Chapter 1 will star Claudie Blakley (Pride & Prejudice, Gosford Park) as Penelope, Matthew Goode (Stoker, The Duke) as Raymond, a father who strives for something more for his family, Mia Goth (Suspiria, Emma) as Mabel, the daughter of Raymond and Penelope, Mark Heap (Friday Night Dinner, The Trouble With Maggie Cole) as Mr Thomas, Miranda Richardson (Stronger, Good Omens) as Aunt Clarice, Josh McGuire (Lovesick, Love Nina) as Uncle Georgie and Stephanie Cole (Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, Doc Martin) as Great Aunt Eleanor.
Chapter 2 will star musician/writer Jarvis Cocker as the Contractor who’s determined to refurbish the house, Yvonne Lombard (A Lesson in Love, Göta Kanal) and the late Sven Wollter as the Odd Couple – curious and mysterious potential buyers, and musician Dizzee Rascal as the Policeman.
Chapter 3 will star Helena Bonham-Carter (The Crown, Enola Holmes) as Jen, an eccentric tenant, Paul Kaye (Game of Thrones, The Third Day) as Cosmos, a spiritual friend of Jen, Will Sharpe (Giri/Haji) as Elias, a sensitive young artist and tenant, and Susan Wokoma (Crazyhead, Enola Holmes) as Rosa, the landlady determined to restore the house to its former glory.
You can catch them in action on 14th January when the anthology premieres on Netflix. Here’s a trailer:
