Have you ever wondered who barely runs the world? Netflix has the answer in its new animated comedy, Inside Job.
The adult animated comedy takes place in the world of the shadow government – and the dysfunctional team whose daily grind is committing the world’s conspiracies. From convoluted cover-ups to secret societies to masked orgy etiquette, navigating office culture at Cognito Inc. can be tricky, especially for anti-social tech genius Reagan Ridley. Even in a workplace filled with reptilian shapeshifters and psychic mushrooms, she’s seen as the odd one out for believing the world could be a better place. Reagan thinks she can make a difference, if only she could manage her unhinged, manifesto-writing father and her irresponsible coworkers, to finally snag the promotion she’s been dreaming about.
The series is created by Shion Takeuchi (Gravity Falls), who serves as showrunner, and executive produced by Alex Hirsch (Gravity Falls). Bringing it to life is a voice cast that includes Lizzy Caplan as Reagan Ridley, Cognito Inc’s antisocial tech genius, and Christian Slater as Rand Ridley, Reagan’s father, and disgraced head of Cognito Inc.
You can hear them in action on 22nd October, when the series premieres worldwide on Netflix. Here’s the trailer:
Inside Job: Season 1 is available on Netflix UK, as part of an £9.99 monthly subscription.

Shion Takeuchi plans Inside Job for Netflix
24th April 2019
Shion Takeuchi is planning an Inside Job at Netflix, with the writer working on a new animated series for the streaming giant.
Netflix’s line-up of adult animation has significantly expanded in recent years, growing from BoJack Horseman to include Big Mouth, F Is for Family, Paradise P.D. and Disenchantment. The latter is where Takuechi caught Netflix’s eye, after working on a staff writer on Matt Groening’s fantasy comedy.
Takeuchi already has an impressive CV, from the Story Department at Pixar (where she worked on Monsters University and Inside Out) to The Regular Show (Cartoon Network), Gravity Falls (Disney XD) and Lost In Oz (Amazon). Last year, she inked a multi-year overall deal that will see her develop new series and other projects for Netflix.
The first of those projects has now been confirmed as Inside Job, a workplace comedy that is set in the shadow government where every conspiracy theory is true and one woman struggles to keep the chaos under wraps.
“Shion represents the next generation of animation creators at Netflix and we are truly honored to be working with her on Inside Job. We can’t wait for adult animation fans around the world to fall in love with her singular brand of comedy and characters,” Mike Moon, who leads the adult animation division at Netflix, told Variety in a statement.
