Apple TV+ is expanding the world of Mythic Quest with a new spin-off series titled Mere Mortals.
Currently in its third season, Mythic Quest is a hit sitcom from creators Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Megan Ganz that follows a group of video game developers tasked with building worlds, shaping heroes and creating legends, even though the most hard-fought battles don’t occur in the game — they happen in the office.
Mere Mortals will explore the lives of employees, players and fans who are impacted by the game. The new extension series takes a page out of the acclaimed departure episodes of Mythic Quest, including Sarian, which debuted this weekend, last year’s Everlight, narrated by Anthony Hopkins, and the standalone Covid-19 lockdown episode Mythic Quest: Quarantine.
The eight-episode comedy is created by Ashly Burch, John Howell Harris and Katie McElhenney. The new series will be produced for Apple TV+ by Lionsgate, 3 Arts Entertainment and Ubisoft. Megan Ganz, Rob McElhenney, David Hornsby, Charlie Day, Nick Frenkel, Michael Rotenberg, Jason Altman and Margaret Boykin will serve as executive producers.
