It’s only a matter of weeks into He-Man is back in action and a new trailer gives us a closer look at Netflix’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation.

From showrunner Kevin Smith, the sequel to the 1980s cult classic picks up where the iconic characters left off decades ago. After a cataclysmic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, Eternia is fractured and the Guardians of Grayskull are scattered. And after decades of secrets tore them apart, it’s up to Teela to reunite the broken band of heroes, and solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to restore Eternia and prevent the end of the universe.

Netflix is bringing back He-Man and co this July for Masters of the Universe: Revelation, and a new teaser gives us a first look at the animated series.

Showrunner and executive producer Kevin Smith introduced an exclusive teaser during Netflix’s online fan event Geeked Week, unveiling a glimpse of the upcoming sequel to the 1980s cult classic series.

The war for Eternia culminates in the animated series, which picks up where the iconic characters left off decades ago. Mark Hamill, Lena Headey lead cast for Netflix’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation anime

Mark Hamill and Lena Headey will lead the star-studded voice cast for Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Netflix’s new anime based on He-Man, Skeletor, Teela and the other classic characters of the Masters of the Universe franchise.

The series is being produced by Mattel Television with Adam Bonnett (Descendants), Christopher Keenan (Justice League, Batman Beyond) and Rob David (He-Man and the Masters of the Universe) as executive producers.

Kevin Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy) will serve as showrunner and executive producer, with Susan Corbin (Voltron) on board as producer. Writers on the series include Marc Bernardin (Castle Rock, Alphas), Eric Carrasco (Supergirl), Diya Mishra (Magic the Gathering) and Tim Sheridan (Reign of the Supermen). Animation for the series is being done by Powerhouse Animation (Castlevania).

The series joins another He-Men programme in the works for Netflix, with an animated series called He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, which will be a CG reimagining of the classic tale with all-new storylines and a fresh take on the iconic characters.
