Pachinko will return to Apple TV+ this August, and a new trailer gives us a first look at Season 2.

A sweeping and deeply moving story of love and survival across four generations, it is told through the eyes of remarkable matriarch, Sunja. In Season 2, parallel stories pick up in Osaka in 1945, where Sunja is forced to make dangerous decisions for her family’s survival during World War II, and in Tokyo in 1989, where Solomon explores new, humble beginnings.
The eight-part Season 2 hails once again from creator and executive producer Soo Hugh. It stars Lee Minho, Yuh-Jung Youn, Minha Kim, Jin Ha, Anna Sawai, Eunchae Jung, Soji Arai, Junwoo Han and Sungkyu Kim.
You can see them in action from 23rd August, when Season 2 premieres on Apple TV+ with episodes arriving weekly until the finale on 11th October.

Apple renews Pachinko for Season 2
2nd May 2022
Apple TV+ has renewed Pachinko for a second season.
The drama, created by Soo Hugh and based on the bestselling novel, tells a story of war and peace, love and loss, triumph and reckoning. Spanning generations and told across three languages – Korean, Japanese, and English – Pachinko chronicles the hopes and dreams of a Korean immigrant family as they leave their homeland in an indomitable quest to survive and thrive. Starting in South Korea in the early 1900s, the story is told through the eyes of matriarch, Sunja, who triumphs against all odds.
Hugh (The Terror, The Killing), who created the series, serves as showrunner, with Kogonada and Justin Chon executive producing and directing four episodes each. In front of the camera are Academy Award-winning actress Yuh-Jung Youn as older Sunja, Lee Minho as Hansu, Jin Ha as Solomon, Minha Kim as teenage Sunja, Anna Sawai as Naomi, Eunchae Jung as young Kyunghee, Inji Jeong as Yangjin, Jimmi Simpson as Tom Andrews, Junwoo Han as Yoseb, Kaho Minami as Etsuko, Steve Sanghyun Noh as Isak, Soji Arai as Mozasu, and Yuna as young Sunja.
The renewal came just ahead of the Season 1 finale this weekend.
“Words cannot express my joy in being able to continue telling the extraordinary story of this indomitable family,” said Hugh. “I’m grateful to the amazing team at Apple and Media Res studio for believing and supporting this show, and to our passionate fans who have cheered us on. It’s an honor to be able to continue working with this amazing cast and crew.”
