Amazon is looking to turn The Terminal List into its next franchise with both a second season and a prequel series give the green light.
Based on the bestselling novel by Jack Carr and written by showrunner David DiGilio, the thriller stars Chris Pratt as a former Navy SEAL who investigates why his entire operation unit was ambushed during a do-or-die mission. Helping him and hindering him is a cast that includes Constance Wu, Taylor Kitsch, Riley Keough, Jai Courtney and Patrick Schwarzenegger.
Now, Amazon has announced that Chris Pratt will reprise his role in a second season based on Carr’s novel, True Believer. Additionally, Prime Video has ordered an untitled prequel series, to be co-created by Carr and DiGilio, which will focus on fan-favourite Ben Edwards, portrayed by Taylor Kitsch. The prequel series will feature additional Carr characters, including James Reece (Chris Pratt), Raife Hastings, Mohammed Farooq, and Ernest “Boozer” Vickers (Jared Shaw), and will be an elevated espionage thriller that takes viewers on Edwards’ journey from Navy SEAL to CIA paramilitary operator, exploring the darker side of warfare and the human cost that comes with it.
Kitsch will also serve as executive producer on the series, alongside Chris Pratt through Indivisible Productions, Antoine Fuqua through Hill District Media, Carr, DiGilio, former Army Ranger Max Adams and former Navy SEAL Jared Shaw.
Carr says: “Fans of The Terminal List will be thrilled to see James Reece’s journey continue in an action-packed story of violent redemption in True Believer. And we’re so excited to build this Terminal List prequel and explore Ben Edwards, brought to life so powerfully by Taylor Kitsch. Get ready for a journey from the SEAL teams to the CIA’s Ground Branch, as we watch a fan-favorite character fighting for his soul.”
