“I just heard a story about my dad…” That’s the sound of Bosch: Legacy returning for a final season – and a trailer gives us first look at Season 3.
The third and last chapter of the Bosch spin-off series is based on Michael Connelly’s best-selling novels Desert Star (2022) and The Black Ice (1993). The murder investigation of Kurt Dockweiler brings dangerous secrets to light and threatens to ruin the lives of our three principal characters. The disappearance of a family haunts Harry Bosch and forces him to confront the limits of justice. In a hotly contested race, Honey “Money” Chandler is poised to become the next District Attorney of Los Angeles. And Maddie Bosch gets entangled in a series of violent follow-home robberies.
Season 3 premieres on 27th March on Amazon Prime Video, with four episodes arriving together – followed by two episodes weekly until the finale on 17th April. Here’s the trailer:
Bosch: Legacy to finish with Season 3
8th September 2024
Bosch: Legacy will officially finish with its third season.
The online giant first brought Michael Connelly’s detective Harry Bosch to the screens back in 2015 and the crime drama Bosch went on to become Amazon Prime Video’s longest-running original drama to date, with the show going on for seven seasons.
In 2022, Amazon’s free-with-ads platform Freevee tapped into the franchise’s appeal by releasing a spin-off series, Bosch: Legacy, which follows Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver), now a retired homicide detective turned private investigator, and attorney Money Chandler (Mimi Rogers), who struggles to maintain her faith in the justice system, as they both begin new chapters in their lives. Meanwhile, Maddie Bosch (Madison Lintz) discovers the challenges of being a rookie patrol cop on the streets of Los Angeles.
Season 2 arrived last year, with a third greenlit before the sophomore run had even premiered. Now, though, Connelly has confirmed that Season 3 will be the last outing for Bosch.
“It’s been an amazing run with this character so far,” he wrote on Instagram. “There’s that over-used phrase ‘It takes a village,’ so I’ll just say, it takes at least a whole town to make a show like this. We’ve had the best people up and down the call sheet. Actors, writers, directors, producers, and all the crew tried to make something special, and they certainly did. I’m very proud of what we did.”
Connelly described Harry as “the full embodiment of Harry Bosch”.
“That was the magic that fueled 10 seasons,” he added. “As the guy who writes the books, I can’t tell you how lucky I got when he signed on.”
Amazon, meanwhile, is already building on the back of Bosch’s success, with a spin-off series in the works following cold case detective Renee Ballard, starring Maggie Q.
“For ten years, ‘Bosch’ and ‘Bosch: Legacy’ have been two of our most defining series for Prime Video, Freevee, and Amazon MGM Studios. They are a testament to the enduring power of the storytelling universe that Michael Connelly built for the fan,” said Vernon Sanders, head of TV for Amazon MGM Studios, in a statement. “We are proud of the impact these series have made, and we are excited that Michael, Titus, Henrik and the creative team have more engaging stories to tell in the ‘Bosch’ world with the final season of ‘Bosch: Legacy,’ our new Ballard series and more to come.”
Season 3 of Bosch: Legacy is scheduled to debut in March 2025.

We look forward to giving Bosch fandom the next chapter for these beloved characters.”
“What a gift and a joy it is to be able to dig into these characters again and take their stories even further,” said Michael Connelly, writer and executive producer. “Ten years ago, we began this amazing journey, partnering with Prime Video and now Amazon Freevee, and I couldn’t be happier with what we’ve done and will do.”
The renewal continues Amazon’s expansion of the Bosch universe, with two more spin-offs in the works, inspired by the work of best-selling author Michael Connelly. The first follows Harry Bosch’s former partner, Detective Jerry Edgar, who is tapped for an undercover FBI mission in Little Haiti, Miami – Jamie Hector, who starred opposite Titus Welliver on the original Bosch series, is confirmed to reprise his role in the developing project.
