James R | On 01, May 2022
Prepare to bid farewell once again to Claire and Jamie Fraser, as the month begins with Outlander Season 6 finale on 1st May. Then trade the 1770s for 1990s Tokyo, with Michael Mann’s new thriller – joined by another modern classic set in Japan’s capital, and one of Mann’s modern gems.
Here’s what’s coming to STARZPLAY in May 2022:
Tokyo Vice – 15th May
Michael Mann’s crime series is inspired by American journalist Jake Adelstein’s bestselling memoir and first-hand account of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police beat. It explores the unseen side of Tokyo, following Adelstein’s (Ansel Elgort) daily descent into the neon-soaked underbelly of Tokyo in the late 90s. Episodes 1 and 2 arrive together, with the remaining episodes arriving weekly on Sundays.
Blackhat – 1st May
Directed by Michael Mann, Blackhat follows a furloughed convict as he hunts a high-level global cybercrime network.
Get on Up – 1st May
Chadwick Boseman is James Brown in this movie based on the life story of the Godfather of Soul. The film gives a fearless look inside the music, moves and moods of Brown.
Lost in Translation – 1st May
Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson star in Sofia Coppola’s drama about a seen-better-days American actor and a newly married woman who meet in Tokyo and spend an increasingly intimate week together in the colorful city.
Biggie & Tupac – 1st May
A no-holds-barred investigation into the still unsolved murders of two of the biggest superstars rap has ever produced.
STARZPLAY costs £4.99 a month. The platform is available on iOS, Android, Apple TV and Virgin Media On Demand or through Amazon Prime Video Channels, as an add-on subscription to your existing account.
