This spring saw the surprise launch of Quibi in the UK. Short for “Quick Bites”, the streaming platform delivers programmes and films in short chunks of 5 to 10 minutes each, designed to be watched on mobile phones on the go. A month after its launch, though, the mobile-only platform announced plans to backtrack on its signature proposition and introduce the ability to cast content to TVs – a sign of how challenging an environment it is for a new streaming service to make any headway in a crowded landscape.

This month, sees some stirrings of potential at Quibi, with the ongoing home movie version of The Princess Bride joined by Nish Kumar’s new topical comedy series. Here’s what’s coming soon to Quibi in July – or see what was added to Quibi last month here.

Hello America – 6th July

The ever-hilarious Nish Kumar tackles the Grade A dumpster fire that is American Politics. Watch every Monday and Friday to commiserate and try to make sense of this surreal dystopian nightmare.

Life-Size Toys – 6th July

Die Hart – 20th July

Kevin Hart plays a fictionalised version of himself who’s tired of being the comedic sidekick. He gets his wish when a famous director offers him his dream – to be a leading man action star – but there’s a catch: Kevin must first train at the world’s greatest action star school, run by a lunatic. Pushed to his limits by this action school coach and a tough-minded rival student (Nathalie Emmanuel) Kevin must survive a series of hilarious, over-the-top action sequences and face his fears if he wants to achieve his dream and land the role of a lifetime. Co-starring John Travolta.

Don’t Look Deeper – 27th July (TBC)

In near-future California, high school senior Aisha learns a dark secret about herself. She goes from dreams of graduation and college…to suddenly running for her life.

Bad Ideas with Adam Devine – 27th July (TBC)

Adam Devine leads his famous friends around the globe to tame danger and test out some truly bad ideas.
