Top 5 coming soon to Netflix UK (June 2014)

Every month, we bring you a sneak peek at the best films coming soon to Netflix UK. With the World Cup on the way, it’s no surprise that a football-themed documentary – announced today – will kick off mid-month, but the summer takes a notably darker turn towards the end of June…
This Is Not a Ball – Friday 13th June
The documentary follows the creative process of acclaimed Brazilian photographer Vik Muniz as he explores the world’s passion for football and creates a major work of art made of 20,000 footballs. The production traveled through nine months and nine countries around the world, visiting cities such as Rio de Janeiro, Mexico City and New York, interviewing everyone from children in the slums of Rio to astrophysicist Neil De Grasse Tyson.
Lovelace – Monday 16th June
Amanda Seyfried stars as adult film icon Linda Lovelace, a woman coerced into and abused by the porn industry before taking charge of her life. She is joined by James Franco, Peter Sarsgaard and Juno Temple.
TRON: Legacy – 18th June
TRON: Legacy is a classic example of style over substance, but what style! Daft Punk’s score and Joseph Kosinski’s visuals are stunning to behold – not quite enough to buy to keep, perhaps, but certainly enough to warrant a re-watch on a VOD service.
You’re Next – Saturday 28th June
A shy girl goes to her new boyfriend’s family reunion and must join their bloody fight for survival when a gang of masked hooligans invades the party. Trashy yet intelligent, Adam Wingard’s horror is one of the most surprising genre flicks of recent years – and huge fun to watch.
Carrie – Monday 30th June
Kimberly Peirce’s remake of Brian De Palma’s seminal horror film sees the eponymous misfit teen pushed to breaking point by classmates who bully her at high school prom. Chloë Grace Moretz stars as the supernaturally-powered girl, supported by Julianne Moore as her mother.
