The Raid’s Iko Uwais is heading to Netflix this month with new Indonesian action thriller The Night Comes for Us.
The film, which premiered at Fantastic Fest this year, is directed by Timo Tjahjanto, one half of the Mo Brothers, who brought us Killers and Headshot, in addition to a segment in V/H/S/2. The film follows Ito (Joe Taslim), a Triad assassin who returns home and, after sparing a girl’s life in a massacre, finds himself targeted by an onslaught of gangsters.
The film stars Headshot’s Sunny Pang, The Raid 2’s Zack Lee, The Raid’s Joe Taslim, Macabre’s Julie Estelle and, of course, The Raid and The Raid 2 star Iwais, who also co-ordinates the action. Now, after Fantastic Fest, Netflix is distributing the film worldwide, premiering on Friday 19th October.
