Bachelorette director Leslye Headland is heading to Netflix to helm Tell Me Everything
Netflix preemptively acquired the feature film rights to Cambria Brockman’s thriller earlier this year for Michael Sugar’s newly launched Sugar23 and Anonymous Content to produce with Aevitas Creative Management. Set at an elite college in small town New England, the story follows the shifting alliances and romantic entanglements of six tight-knit students… until one of them is murdered.
Sugar23’s head of production Ashley Zalta identified the project and will produce it alongside Michael Sugar, Anonymous Content and Aevitas’ Todd Shuster. Nicole Clemens and Aevitas’s Lori Galvin will executive produce. (Galvin and Aevitas’ Lane Zachary sold the debut book at auction to Ballantine, who will publish it Stateside in June 2019.)
Now, Headland (Sleeping with Other People) has officially boarded the project. She recently wrapped the first season of Netflix’s Russian Doll, an original series she created with Natasha Lyonne and Amy Poehler.
Netflix acquires rights to Tell Me Everything

Netflix has acquired the rights to the novel Tell Me Everything.
The debut book from Cambria Brockman will be released later this year, but before it’s even been published, Netflix has already swooped in to preemptively snap up the film rights.
The thriller takes place at an elite college in small-town New England and follows six students who are friends. It charts the shifting alliances and romantic bonds between the group, until one of them is murdered.
The novel was recently bought by Ballantine at an auction, with an eye to publish in June 2019. Shortly after, Aevitas’ Lori Galvin and Lane Zachary sold on the book rights for a screen adaptation. The book was brought to Netflix by Michael Sugar’s production company, Sugar23, which will produce the movie with Anonymous Content and Aevitas Creative Management.
Anonymous Content’s Nicole Clemens and Aevitas’ Galvin will be exec producers on the movie. Sugar23’s head of production Ashley Zalta spotted the project and will be a producer alongside Aevitas’ Todd Shuster and Sugar himself, whose credits include the Oscar-winning Spotlight. Sugar has long been a manager-producer at Anonymous Content, before he founded Sugar23 last year. However, he retains a multi-year first look deal with AC, which includes Tell Me Everything.
