IMDb, Amazon’s ad-supported free streaming service, is now available in the UK. The platform, which is an extension of the Amazon-owned IMDb brand, is part of the Amazon Prime Video app, and provides films and TV shows for free, but with adverts.
IMDb TV requires an Amazon account to use, but does not require any payment, memberships or subscription. It does not include everything that would normally be included with an Amazon Prime subscription, but there are some titles that are also available part of an Amazon Prime subscription, so that viewers can pay should they want to watch with no adverts. Each month, Amazon will be adding titles to the IMDb TV library, from third party acquisitions to exclusive originals. Here’s what’s coming soon to IMDb TV UK in February 2022:
Top Class: The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers: Season 2 – 4th February
In this emotionally charged second season, the docuseries picks up after a quiet 12 months without prep sports. The six-part sophomore chapter will take viewers on a journey as the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers emerge to resume their quest for victory after the abrupt end of their 2020 campaign to repeat as California state champions. LeBron James and Maverick Carter will return as executive producers with their Sports Emmy Award-winning athlete empowerment brand, UNINTERRUPTED.
Friday Night Lights: Season 1 and 2 – 1st February
Peter Berg’s sports drama follows the coach (Kyle Chandler) and players of a high school football team in Dillon, Texas, as they struggle through professional and personal troubles.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? – 1st February
No matter what, the Coen brothers can always be relied upon to make movies for themselves rather than anyone else. This take on Homer’s Odyssey – which sees three convicts (led by George Clooney) break out of a Depression-era Mississippi jail, only to form a barbershop triplet – is the perfect example. But O Brother, Where Art Thou? also proves that the Coen brothers’ movies never fail to entertain the rest of us too.
The Talented Mr Ripley – 1st February
Matt Damon and Jude Law shine in Anthony Minghella’s sumptuous adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s thriller.
