Freevee, Amazon’s ad-supported free streaming service, has had a rebrand. The platform, formerly known as IMDb TV, is part of the Amazon Prime Video app, and provides films and TV shows for free, but with adverts.

It requires an Amazon account to use, but does not require any payment, memberships or subscription. It does not include everything that would normally be included with an Amazon Prime subscription, but there are some titles that are also available part of an Amazon Prime subscription, so that viewers can pay should they want to watch with no adverts. Each month, Amazon will be adding titles to the Amazon Freevee library, from third party acquisitions to exclusive originals. Here’s what’s coming soon in August 2022:

Post Malone: Runaway – 12th August

Amazon Freevee announced the 12th August premiere date for Post Malone: Runaway, a one-hour documentary from Emmy award-winning studio Pulse Films, a part of Vice Media Group, showcasing the story of Grammy-nominated, three-times diamond-certified artist Post Malone’s first arena tour. The film, an Amazon Freevee Original movie, will feature exclusive backstage access, live performances, and intimate interviews. The official trailer and screeners are available now.

Sprung: Season 1 – 19th August

This 9-episode comedy focuses on an unlikely group of formerly incarcerated people who band together to use their criminal expertise for good. From Greg Garcia (My Name Is Earl, Raising Hope), Sprung stars Garret Dillahunt (Fear the Walking Dead, The Mindy Project) as Jack, Martha Plimpton (Generation, Younger) as Barb, Phillip Garcia (Scandal) as Rooster, Shakira Barrera (GLOW) as Gloria, James Earl (Night School) as Melvin and Clare Gillies as Wiggles. The first two episodes will debut exclusively on Amazon Freevee beginning 19th August, followed by new episodes each week and a one-hour season finale on 16th September.

Troppo: Season 1 – 26th August

Thomas Jane stars in this drama about Amanda Pharrell, an eccentric private investigator with a disturbing criminal past, who recruits disgraced ex-cop Ted Conkaffey to help her solve her first real case: the disappearance of a Korean family man and tech pioneer. All episodes arrive at once.
