What’s coming soon to Apple TV+ in November 2021?

Apple TV+ is stepping up its streaming game this year, with a slew of new and returning originals this autumn. November sees Apple and Tom Hanks team up once again for the release of apocalyptic Finch, plus there’s a reunion between Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd on the cards for new comedy The Shrink Next Door. Elsewhere, there’s a Korean sci-fi thriller, a reboot of family favourite Harriet the Spy and a festive documentary on offer – and, of course, weekly instalments of The Morning Show, Foundation and Invasion.
Here’s what’s coming soon to Apple TV+ in November 2021:
Dr Brain – 4th November
Based on the webtoon of the same name, this Korean sci-fi series follows a brilliant brain scientist Sewon (LEE Sun-kyun) who suffers a horrific personal tragedy when his family falls victim to a mysterious accident. Desperate to uncover what happened, he goes to extraordinary lengths to solve the tragic mystery by conducting “brain syncs” with the dead to access their memories for clues.
Dickinson: Season 3 – 5th November
“I want to do something that matters.” With her world at war, words are all Emily has in the third and final chapter of Dickinson, Apple’s comedy series about Emily Dickinson (Hailee Steinfeld). Audaciously exploring the constraints of society, gender, and family from the perspective of the rebellious young poet, the series returns for one last ride, with three episodes arriving at once, with the remaining episodes then arriving weekly on Fridays, until a finale on 24th December.
Hello, Jack! The Kindness Show – 5th November
Jack is one of Clover Grove’s most thoughtful and caring residents, greeting everyone with kindness and humor. His ability to spread compassion, creativity, and imagination inspires everyone in town to do the same.
Finch – 5th November
Tom Hanks stars in this drama about a man, a robot and a dog who form an unlikely family. Finch is a robotics engineer and one of the few survivors of a cataclysmic solar event that has left the world a wasteland. But Finch, who has been living in an underground bunker for a decade, has built a world of his own that he shares with his dog, Goodyear. He creates a robot, played by Caleb Landry Jones, to watch over Goodyear when he no longer can. As the trio embarks on a perilous journey into a desolate American West, Finch strives to show his creation, who names himself Jeff, the joy and wonder of what it means to be alive. Their road trip is paved with both challenges and humor, as it’s as difficult for Finch to goad Jeff and Goodyear to get along as it is for him to manage the dangers of the new world.
The Shrink Next Door – 12th November
Inspired by true events, The Shrink Next Door details the bizarre relationship between psychiatrist to the stars Dr Isaac “Ike” Herschkopf (played by Paul Rudd) and his longtime patient Martin “Marty” Markowitz (played by Will Ferrell). Over the course of their relationship, the all-too-charming Ike slowly inserts himself into Marty’s life, even moving into Marty’s Hamptons home and persuading Marty to name him president of the family business. The series explores how a seemingly normal doctor-patient dynamic morphs into an exploitative relationship filled with manipulation, power grabs, and dysfunction at its finest. The series also stars Kathryn Hahn as Phyllis, Marty’s younger sister, and Casey Wilson as Bonnie, the wife of Dr Herschkopf.
Harriet the Spy – 19th November
Outspoken and perpetually curious. That’s 11-year-old Harriet in a nutshell. But if she’s going to be Harriet M Welsch, future writer, she’ll need to know everything. And to know everything means she’ll need to spy … on everyone.
The Line – 19th November
Following the release of the Apple TV+ Original podcast The Line earlier this year, this four-part documentary series examines the 2018 case in which a US Navy SEAL platoon accused its chief, Eddie Gallagher, of war crimes. Featuring exclusive interviews with Gallagher, his wife Andrea, members of SEAL Team 7 who accused their chief, journalist Dave Philipps, former Secretary of the Navy Richard Spencer and more, the docuseries is a raw look inside Seal Team 7 and the deployment that pushed the bonds of brotherhood to their limits. All four episodes arrive at once.
’Twas the Fight Before Christmas – 26th November
This documentary follows the story of a North Idaho neighborhood turned upside down by one man’s obsession with bringing Christmas cheer to all, through the biggest community Christmas event America has ever seen. Christmas-loving lawyer Jeremy Morris’ plan hits a snag when the home owners’ association informs him that the event violates the rules of the neighborhood. A contentious fight over the festivities erupts and things snowball out of control. As the situation escalates, the film asks the question, who wins when different rights and interests collide? Director Becky Read pieces together the polarised perspectives in this quirky Christmas tale about freedoms, with a message about differences and tolerance at its heart.
