While Apple TV+ teases a promotional event on 4th and 5th January – likely to be a weekend when anyone can access its library for free to get a taste – the tech giant is bringing back one of its boldest hits to kick off the new year, with the return of Severance. And to help lighten the mood, it’s joined by the return of the similarly tech-minded comedy, Mythic Quest.

Here’s what’s coming soon to Apple TV+ in January 2025:

Severance: Season 2 – 17th January

Hailing from director and executive producer Ben Stiller and creator, writer and executive producer Dan Erickson, the darkly comic thriller introduces us to Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark Scout (Adam Scott), who leads a team at the company, finds himself at the centre of an unravelling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work … and of himself. In Season 2, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe. Episodes arrive weekly until the finale on 21st March.

Prime Target – 22nd January

This thriller follows a brilliant young math postgraduate, Edward Brooks (played by Leo Woodall), who is on the verge of a major breakthrough. If he succeeds in finding a pattern in prime numbers, he will hold the key to every computer in the world. Soon, he begins to realize an unseen enemy is trying to destroy his idea before it’s even born, which throws him into the orbit of Taylah Sanders, a female NSA agent (played by Quintessa Swindell) who’s been tasked with watching and reporting on mathematicians’ behavior. Together, they start to unravel the troubling conspiracy Edward is at the heart of. Episodes 1 and 2 arrive together, followed by episodes weekly until the finale on 5th March.

Eva the Owlet: Seeason 2 – 24th January

This animated series stars Eva, a creative, cheeky owlet who lives next door to her best friend Lucy in the woodland world of Treetopington. With big ideas and an even bigger personality, Eva goes on high-flying adventures, expressing herself in her diary along the way!

Mythic Quest: Season 4 – 29th January

Hailing from creators Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Megan Ganz, the comedy series follows a group of video game developers tasked with building worlds, shaping heroes and creating legends, even though the most hard-fought battles don’t occur in the game — they happen in the office. Season 4 sees the reunited team at Mythic Quest confront new challenges among a changing video game landscape as stars rise, egos clash, relationships bloom and everyone tries to have a little more work work life balance. Episodes 1 and 2 arrive together, followed by episodes weekly until the finale on 26th March.
