What’s leaving Sky and NOW TV in January / February 2020?
James R | On 23, Jan 2020
Whether your planning to hit the gym or eat less meat, don’t forget to make one new year’s resolution catching up on some modern gems before their rights expire and they depart your favourite streaming service.
For Sky and NOW users, that means taking care not to miss out on comedy masterpieces 30 Rock, Nathan for You and Kidding, or, if you’ve got Sky Cinema, everything from Love, Simon and Lady Bird to Mary And The Witch’s Flower and – as Disney+ draws closer – a Pixar favourite.
This is your last chance to stream the following:
TV
30 Rock: Season 1 to 7 – 26th January
Written by and starring Tina Fey, the sitcom follows Liz Lemon (Fey), Head Writer for a live sketch-comedy show, as she tries to contend with the mad escapades of her colleagues. From erratic Hollywood star Tracy (Tracy Morgan) to suave executive “fixer” Jack (Alec Baldwin), from self-obsessed actress Jenna (Jane Krakowski) to effervescent page Kenneth (Jack McBrayer), this finely tuned ensemble comedy is stuffed with endless, endlessly silly, laughs.
Kidding: Season 1 – 26th January
Jim Carrey is heartbreakingly good in this moving, hilarious, surprising journey of one kids’ TV presenter’s painful self-discovery.
Nathan For You: Season 1 to 4 – 31st January
In this docu-reality comedy, comedian Nathan Fielder uses his business degree and life experiences to help actual small businesses turn a profit.
Marvel’s Runaways: Season 1 and 2 – 31st January
Hulu’s superhero series, based on the comic books created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona, tells the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other, but must unite against a common foe – their parents. When our six L.A. teens stumble onto a terrible secret, they realize their parents have been lying to them all their lives. But what are they after? And why? While the kids investigate, the adults start to wonder if their kids are hiding secrets of their own… With the third and final season now airing weekly, don’t miss your chance to catch up with Season 1.
Silicon Valley: Season 1 to 5 – 1st February
Mike Judge’s Emmy-winning comedy charts the (mostly) rising fortunes of a socially awkward computer programmer.
Nashville: Season 5 – 8th February
Take a toe-tapping trip to America’s Deep South with this compelling country music drama starring Friday Night Lights’ Connie Britton and Heroes’ Hayden Panettiere.
The Trip To Spain – 13th February
Michael Winterbottom’s BAFTA-nominated The Trip returns as Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon reunite to go on a culinary journey through Spain that’s as funny and mouth-watering as ever.
Ray Donovan: Season 7 – 20th February
Liev Schreiber stars as LA’s best professional fixer – clearing away the problems of the rich and famous, no matter how messy. Or how illegal.
