What’s leaving Sky and NOW TV in May / June 2019?
James R | On 25, May 2019
There’s only one Bank Holiday in May left, and if you’re stuck for something to watch, it’s the perfect time to binge your way through some of the best TV shows and films on Sky NOW, before they depart into the digital ether. Whether it’s fantasy epics and superhero blockbusters or slow-burn dramas and Disney classics, this month is your last chance to stream the following:
TV
Quarry: Season 1 – 25th May
Based on the best-selling novels by Max Allen Collins (writer of Road to Perdition), Quarry is an eight-part drama following a returning veteran’s descent into a criminal underworld. Beneath the surface of this bloody and brutal slow-burner lies a soulful, thoughtful drama.
Mosaic: Season 1 – 29th May
Sharon Stone smoulders in Soderbergh’s cold but engrossing TV experiment.
Broad City: Season 1 to 5 – 31st May
Created by Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer and produced by Amy Poehler, this hit American comedy follows two best friends navigating their 20s in New York City. They may be broke and flawed, but they never shy away from the absurd situations and awkward encounters the Big Apple throws at them.
Grey’s Anatomy: Season 1 to 14 – 31st May
Don’t miss your latest chance to catch up the long-running medical drama.
Game Of Thrones: Season 1 to 7 – 31st May
If you’re still motoring through the first seven seasons of HBO’s epic before finally catching the finale, you better speed up…

Movies
It Comes At Night – 27th May
In the aftermath of a deadly plague, a wary couple (Joel Edgerton and Carmen Ejogo) and their teenage son (Kelvin Harrison Jr) catch fellow survivor Will (Christopher Abbott) breaking into their house in the woods. In the interests of all, they allow Will and his young family to share their home. But there’s no escape from the fear of what’s outside… and what might already be within. Suspicion and paranoia ooze from every pore of this apocalyptic tale of survival.
Dumbo (1941) – 31st May
Whether you’re a fan of the live-action remake or not, don’t miss this chance to go back and revisit the original.
The Birds – 31st May
Hitchcock’s classic horror remains one of his best.
Spider-Man: Homecoming – 2nd June
Tom Holland slings webs like he was born to do it in this hugely entertaining superhero flick.
Watchmen – 6th June
Who watches the Watchmen? You should. The insanely complex narrative of Alan Moore’s graphic novel was described as “unfilmable”. Zack Synder (no, really) ignored that and delivers a neo-noir, gritty super-hero flick that remains as faithful to the source material as it could without giant octopuses.
Wonder Woman (2017) – 7th June
When an American pilot (Chris Pine) crash-lands on her island paradise of Themyscira, supernaturally-gifted Amazonian princess Diana (Gal Gadot) learns that a massive conflict – World War One – is raging in the outside world. She immediately opts to join him and travels to London to contribute her skills to the fight.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier – 11th June
Marvel embraces 70s paranoia with this political thriller that brings heft and weight to its superhero series.
