What’s leaving Sky and NOW TV in January / February 2019?
James R | On 21, Jan 2019
As 2019 gets into full swing, people are making resolutions and setting goals for the year ahead, but before then, there’s the past to consider, and January sees a number of classics, new and old, leave your favourite subscription services, as licences expire and aren’t renewed for the immediate future.
Sky’s box set collection – and NOW’s Entertainment Membership – is bidding farewell to The Sopranos, Runaways and one of 2018’s most underrated gems, Kidding.
Sky Cinema, meanwhile, is waving goodbye to Moana, The LEGO Batman Movie and a host of older masterpieces.
Whichever you subscribe to, this coming month is your last chance to stream the following:
TV
Fortitude: Season 3 – 27th January
Picking up from the bloody, spooky goings-on of Season 2, Sky Atlantic’s Arctic thriller reaches its conclusion.
Kidding: Season 1 – 27th January

Marvel’s Runaways: Season 1 – 2nd February
Hulu’s superhero series, based on the comic books created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona, tells the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other, but must unite against a common foe – their parents. When our six L.A. teens stumble onto a terrible secret, they realize their parents have been lying to them all their lives. But what are they after? And why? While the kids investigate, the adults start to wonder if their kids are hiding secrets of their own… With Season 2 now airing, don’t miss your chance to catch up with Season 1.
The Sopranos: Season 1 – 8th February
Over the course of six seasons, James Gandolfini and a superb ensemble cast, including Edie Falco, Lorraine Bracco and Michael Imperioli, deal with myriad personal and professional problems, from power struggles and affairs, to violence and the threat of exposure and betrayal. Hailed as a masterpiece by pretty much everyone, The Sopranos is one not to miss.
