What’s leaving Sky and NOW TV in August / September 2020?
David Farnor | On 30, Aug 2020
Sky’s growing number of original shows and ever-expanding catalogue of blockbusters is ideal for keeping your days and nights occupied, but before you break open new box sets or devour some big-hitting films, don’t miss your chance to catch some modern gems before their rights expire and they depart.
That means taking care not to miss out some of Sky’s exclusive shows, including Sharp Objects. Or, if you’ve got Sky Cinema, don’t miss some of the best awards contenders of recent years, including Widows, A Star Is Born and First Man.
This is your last chance to stream the following:
TV
Fleming: Season 1 – 31st August
“Everything I write has a precedent in truth.” That’s the opening rationale behind Sky Atlantic’s Fleming, a four-part biopic of Ian Fleming, which sees Dominic Cooper on excellent form as the James Bond author.
The Night Of – 31st August
Based on BBC drama Criminal Justice, this gripping eight-part HBO adaptation stars Riz Ahmed as a man accused of a brutal murder and follows the police investigation and legal proceedings in New York City.
Insecure: Season 1 to 3 – 5th September
Issa Rae’s look at the Black female experience in modern America is one of the best comedies of recent years.
Perry Mason: Season 1 – 9th September
While the rest of the country recovers from the Great Depression of 1932, the city is booming! Oil! Olympic Games! And a child kidnapping gone very, very wrong. Perry Mason’s (Matthew Rhys) relentless pursuit of the truth reveals a fractured city and just maybe, a pathway to redemption for himself.
The Wire: Season 4 – 20th September
One of the best TV shows of all time, David Simon’s drama stars Dominic West (The Affair) as Detective Jimmy McNulty, who along with his fellow investigators attempts to infiltrate a West Baltimore drug ring headed by the elusive Avon Barksdale (Wood Harris) and his lieutenant, Stringer Bell (Idris Elba). Season 4 introduces Baltimore’s school system to the mix.
