What’s leaving Sky and NOW TV in April / May 2020?
David Farnor | On 25, Apr 2020
Sky’s growing number of original shows and ever-expanding catalogue of blockbusters is ideal for keeping your days and nights occupied, but before you break open new box sets or devour some big-hitting films, don’t miss your chance to catch some modern gems before their rights expire and they depart.
That means taking care not to miss out on Sky’s own underrated remake of Valkyrien, the closing run of Arrow and the final season of one of the best shows of all time – or, if you’ve got Sky Cinema, Ocean’s 8 and Minority Report.
This is your last chance to stream the following:
TV
Key & Peele: Season 1 – 30th April
Don’t miss this chance to see Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key on fine form together before the double-act went their separate ways.
Nashville: Season 4 – 30th April
Callie Khouri’s TV series follows a range of country singers in Nashville, Tennessee, grappling with guitars, gossip and fame. If you like your folk music, or just good drama, this is a must-see.
Fresh Off The Boat: Season 3 – 1st May
There are TV series that everyone talks about, and there are TV series that everyone should be talking about. Fresh Off the Boat is the latter, not only because it’s the first US network sitcom starring an Asian-American family in a worrying number of years, but also because it’s very, very funny.
The Sopranos: Season 6 – 8th May
Over the course of six seasons, James Gandolfini and a superb ensemble cast, including Edie Falco, Lorraine Bracco and Michael Imperioli, deal with myriad personal and professional problems, from power struggles and affairs, to violence and the threat of exposure and betrayal. Hailed as a masterpiece by pretty much everyone, The Sopranos is one not to miss.
Temple: Season 1 – 14th May
Mark Strong and Daniel Mays are excellent in this rivetingly ridiculous underground thriller based on the Norwegian drama Valkyrien.
Arrow: Season 8 – 15th May
Don’t miss your chance to bid farewell to Oliver Queen and co., as Arrow wraps things up with its final ever season.

Movies
Grease – 30th April
“Tell me more, tell me more, was it love at first sight?”
Minority Report – 30th April
Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise team up once again for this underrated sci-fi. Based on Philip K Dick’s novel and with scene-stealing supporting turns from Samantha Morton and Colin Farrell, this dark depiction of a fascist future, in which criminals are arrested before they commit crimes, is wonderfully convincing – and chillingly prescient. The thrilling action and smart script are a bonus.
Ocean’s 8 – 21st May
This refreshing, female-led sequel makes up for low-key heist thrills with pure and simple fun.
