David Oyelowo and Rashida Jones are heading to Apple TV+ to star in new drama Wool.
Based on Hugh Howey’s New York Times bestselling trilogy of dystopian novels, the series is set in a ruined and toxic future where a community exists in a giant silo underground, hundreds of stories deep. There, men and women live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them.
It stars Rebecca Ferguson as Juliette, an independent and hardworking engineer. The Dune and Mission: Impossible star will also exec-produce the series, alongside screenwriting Graham Yost (Band of Brothers, Justified), who is penning the series.
Now, she’s got some company, with Jones and Oyelowo signing on to star, alongside Tim Robbins. Oyelowo will play the silo’s sheriff, Holston, while Jones will play Allison, his wife, who works at IT. Director Morten Tyldum (Defending Jacob, The Imitation Game) is at the helm.
