“I like to travel incognito.” That’s Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester in Netflix’s Wednesday, as a new trailer unveils him as the final member of the new incarnation of the Addams Family.
Tim Burton’s live-action series stars Jenna Ortega in the title role, alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzman as Gomez, Gwendoline Christie and Christina Ricci. The sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charts Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy – where she’s either the odd one out or the only one who really fits in with everything weird that’s going on.

Wednesday Addams arrives on Netflix this November, and a new clip gives us a closer glimpse of Tim Burton’s take on the Addams family.

Speaking of weird things, the new clip gives us a look at Thing in action opposite Ortega’s Wednesday. You can see the full series when it drops all at once on 23rd November. It’s a Wednesday, naturally.

That’s the sound of Wednesday Addams heading to the screen – and a new trailer gives us a first look Netflix’s series in action.
From the imagination of Tim Burton, the live-action series stars Jenna Ortega in the title role, alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzman as Gomez, Gwendoline Christie and Christina Ricci. Netflix’s take on Wednesday Addams will arrive on our screens this autumn, and we’ve got our first look at the Tim Burton series.
The live-action coming-of-age comedy will see everyone’s favourite maiden of the macabre graduate into a fully fledged leading lady. The eight-episode series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday’s years as a student at the peculiar Nevermore Academy.
Wednesday attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorised the local town and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago – all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships of the strange and diverse student body and preparing for the dreaded underworld known as adulthood.
Jane the Virgin’s Jenny Ortega will play Wednesday, with Luis Guzmán playing her father, Gomez Addams, and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams. They’re joined by Jamie McShane as Sheriff Donovan Galpin, Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems, the principal of Nevermore Academy, and Christina Ricci as a key figure at Nevermore Academy.

Simply titled Wednesday, the coming-of-age comedy will see everyone’s favourite maiden of the macabre graduate into a fully fledged leading lady. The eight-episode series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday’s years as a student at the peculiar Nevermore Academy.
Wednesday attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorised the local town and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago – all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships of the strange and diverse student body and preparing for the dreaded underworld known as adulthood.
Jane the Virgin’s Jenny Ortega will play Wednesday, with Luis Guzmán (Narcos, The Last Stand, Traffic) playing her father, Gomez Addams, and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams. They’re joined by Jamie McShane as Sheriff Donovan Galpin, who has both an issue with Nevermore and a grudge against former student Gomez Addams. Gwendoline Christie will play Larissa Weems, the principal of Nevermore Academy who still has an axe to grind with her former classmate Morticia Addams.
And now, in an inspired piece of meta-casting, Ricci – fresh from Yellowjackets – has joined the star-studded ensemble. She is, for many film fans, the definitive Wednesday Addams, having played her in the live-action Barry Sonnenfeld films from the 1990s. She will be a series regular in the Netflix project, with Deadline reporting that she will be playing a new character, who will fill a similar role to Thora Birch as Tamara Novak, Wednesday’s dorm mother, who exited the project at the end of last year.
Filming is currently underway in Romania and is expected to finish at the end of this month.

And now, adding extra star power to the ensemble is Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems, the principal of Nevermore Academy who still has an axe to grind with her former classmate Morticia Addams.

Riki Lindhome (Knives Out, Another Period) will play therapist Dr Valerie Kinbott, who takes great interest in latest patient, Wednesday Addams.
Hunter Doohan (Your Honor, Truth Be Told) will play Tyler Galpin, the son of Sheriff Donovan who becomes friends with Wednesday.
Georgie Farmer (Treadstone, The Evermoor Chronicles) will play Ajax Petropolus, a student at Nevermore who happens to be a Gorgon and a difficulty with making eye contact.
Moosa Mostafa (Nativity Rocks!, The Last Bus) will play Eugene Otinger, president of the school’s bee-keeping club.
Emma Myers (Girl in the Basement, Taste of Christmas) will play Enid Sinclair, Wednesday’s sunny Californian roommate at Nevermore, who happens to be a werewolf.

Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorised the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago – all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships of the strange and diverse student body and preparing for the dreaded underworld known as adulthood.
With Tim Burton making his TV directorial debut, and Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar writing, the talent involved in the project is already enough to intrigue. Now, the show’s beginning to assemble its cast, with the Jane the Virgin star stepping into the iconic Addams daughter’s shoes.
Ortega is no stranger to Netflix, having starred in Season 2 of Netflix’s You and the recent family comedy Yes Day. She takes on the role after Christine Ricci played Wednesday in the Addams Family’s last live-action outings, the feature films The Addams Family and Addams Family Values.
