David Farnor | On 28, Sep 2016
Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 will premiere exclusively on Virgin Media in the UK on Monday 3rd October, with episodes released on-demand every week.
The STARZ Original comedy returns to continue the tale of Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) fighting the dark forces from beyond the grave. The 10-episode series roars back into action with Ash leaving his beloved Jacksonville and returning to his hometown of Elk Grove, Michigan. There, he confronts Ruby. The former enemies have to form an uneasy alliance as Elk Grove soon becomes the nucleus of evil.
Lucy Lawless will reprise her role as Ruby, joined by Ray Santiago (Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar and Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell. Also joining the series this year are Michelle Hurd (Law & Order: SVU) as Linda B., Ash’s high school love, Ted Raimi (Xena: Warrior Princess, Spider-Man) as Chet Kaminski, Ash’s childhood best friend, and Lee Majors (The Six Million Dollar Man, The Fall Guy) as Brock Williams, Ash’s father.
Season 1 of the show was snapped up by Virgin exclusively last year for release on-demand and the broadcaster will again be the exclusive home to the programme. While UK audiences normally have to wait 24 hours or more for US shows to jump across the pond, though, each episode of Ash vs Evil Season 2 will be released on Virgin TV at 6am every Monday, to coincide with each episode’s air date in the US.
Season 2 of Ash vs Evil Dead will be available from 3rd October for Virgin Media TV customers to watch through its on-demand service, available to all Mix TV, Fun TV and Full House TV customers, as well as existing M+ and above subscribers. V
Virgin TV customers can still catch up on the first season of Ash vs Evil Dead, available as a full binge-worthy box set.
Ash v Evil Dead is produced by Starz as a premium TV series. Sam Raimi serves as Executive Producer with Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell and Ivan Raimi, along with Craig DiGregorio who serves as Executive Producer/Showrunner. Aaron Lam and Moira Grant serve as Producers.
Watch: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 details revealed at Comic-Con panel
25th July 2016
Ash vs Evil Dead’s second season is drawing closer – and new details have emerged about the show at its Comic-Con panel, which you can watch in full online.
The show, which sees Bruce Campbell reprise his iconic role of Ash, follows the stock boy, ageing lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter, who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, though, he is forced to face his demons – personal and literal.
Starz’ horror spin-off was snapped up last year by Virgin Media for an exclusive UK TV release on its on-demand platform. Season 2 will follow suit, with Virgin Media customers able to stream the series exclusively through their Virgin Media set top boxes. The show kicks off on Halloween in the US, so you can expect a similar air date in the UK.

The biggest change for Season 2 will be the introduction of Lee Majors as Ash’s father.
Majors, attending his first Comic-Con, joined creator Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, Ted Raimi, Lucy Lawless and El Jefe himself for a panel moderated by Dominic Patten.
“When they approached me, I was not that familiar with the show, but I knew what it was,” he admitted. “I viewed the first episode, and then I kept viewing and viewing and viewing, all 10 episodes at one time. I said, ‘This is a fun show.’ I never associated so much horror and blood with being fun, but it’s just hilarious, the crew is so good, and the chemistry all seemed to work very well. It’s so well-done, and I don’t mind being a part of it.”
“[Ash’s father] doesn’t like his son,” Majors added. “[Ash] goes back to his home town, where he created the mess to begin with, and left me there trying to clean up his mess. The town kind of went against me, also, because they didn’t want to be associated with the father of Ashy Slashy.”
DeLorenzo and Santiago confirmed that Season 2 will have bigger action sequences and bloodier stunts – with 85 litres of blood on DeLorenzo alone in the first episode. DeLorenzo also teased “the most disgusting yet hilarious Ash physical fight that [has happened] in the franchise”.
“There’s also a new main, main baddie, who is a nasty fucker. But we’re gonna take him down. If we can,” Campbell hinted.
“It’s somebody who was intimately connected to Ruby [played by Lawless],” noted Rob Tapert. “[This character] now knows that Ash is the chosen one, and he must be stopped at all costs.”
Tapert also revealed that Army of Darkness will get shout-outs in the seasobn, while Lawless announced that she would have a larger role this time around. “My fans want to see me kicking ass,” she commented.
You can catch up with Season 1 of Ash vs Evil Dead on DVD and pay-per-view VOD platforms, including Amazon Instant Video and TalkTalk TV Store. In the meantime, watch the full Comic-Con panel below:
