Power is coming back to our screens this July, and a new trailer gives us a glimpse of the new series.
Creator, writer, producer and showrunner Courtney A Kemp and executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson won fans the world over with Power, which reached its final ever episode in 2020. But the story isn’t over, with Power Book II promptly announced – alongside a prequel (Power Book III: Raising Kanan) and two additional spin-off sequels (Power Book IV: Influence and Power Book V: Force). All produced by Lionsgate Television, this Power universe is executive produced by Kemp and Jackson and will debut exclusively worldwide on STARZPLAY.
Book III takes us back to the early 90s for a coming-of-age story revolving around character Kanan Stark. It stars Patina Miller (“Madam Secretary;” The Hunger Games Franchise) as Raquel “Raq” Thomas and Mekai Curtis as Kanan Stark. The cast also includes Omar Epps (“House,” Love and Basketball), London Brown (“Ballers”), Malcolm Mays (“Them,” “Snowfall”), Hailey Kilgore (“Amazing Stories”), Joey Bada$$ (Two Distant Strangers), Toby Sandeman (“The Royals”), Shanley Caswell (The Conjuring), Lovie Simone (The Craft: Legacy) and Quincy Brown (Dope).
The series premieres on STARZPLAY on Sunday 18th July, with episodes arriving weekly.
Power Book III is available to watch online in the UK on STARZPLAY, a streaming service that costs £4.99 a month. The platform is available on iOS, Android, Apple TV and Virgin Media On Demand or through Amazon Prime Video Channels, as an add-on subscription to your existing account.
