Fear the Walking Dead will return this October for Season 6, AMC has confirmed.
The zombie spin-off series, which began at the start of the undead outbreak, has since undergone a significant transformation, with a time-jump to bring it in line with the original The Walking Dead show – and allow Morgan (Lennie James) to hop across to essentially take the leading role.
After being torn apart by Virginia and her Pioneers, Season 6 picks up with the group is now dispersed across her far-reaching settlements. Life behind Virginia’s walls will test each and every one of them in different ways, forcing them to define who they are in this new world.
You’ll be able to see what happens when the show returns on 11th October in the US – you can expect that, therefore, to be Monday 12th October in the UK on AMC from BT TV. But the show will also undergo another transformation, AMC has revealed, with the series taking on a more anthology-like structure.
Scott M Gimple, the overall head of The Walking Dead universe, revealed the details of the show’s return during its panel at Comic-Con At Home last night. He was joined on the panel virtually by cast members Lennie James, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo, Danay Garcia, Karen David, Jenna Elfman, and Rubén Blades.
Domingo noted he would direct a “Die Hard-esque” chapter in the new season, which they also all talked about the pause in production due to the coronavirus pandemic. Nonetheless, the show is set to return this year, just a week after The Walking Dead Season 10 finale, and the debut of another spin-off series, World Beyond. And what of Morgan? The new trailer above, and the panel below, gives us more of a hint as to his startling new appearance.
