Comic-Con: Ash vs. Evil Dead series gets bloody trailer

Movies spawning TV shows is becoming an increasingly common occurrence, from Scream to From Dusk Till Dawn. Now, though, a trailer has arrived that suggests it might not always be a bad thing. The trailer in question? Ash vs. Evil Dead.
The horror sitcom is created by Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell for Starz, and both were present at Comic-Com 2015 to unleash a trailer for the show.
It sees Campbell reprise his role as Ash Williams, years after his original battle with the evil dead in that infamous cabin in the woods.
“Ash has survivor’s guilt,” Campbell told Entertainment Weekly last year. “You could have a heyday with his PTSD. He’s a war vet. He doesn’t want to talk about it, and he’ll lie about that stump on his hand to impress the ladies. This is a guy who’s got some issues. He’s emotionally stunted. But he’s the guy you want in the foxhole next to you. That’s the funny thing—he’s kind of an idiot, but man, if I had to go to battle, I’d want to be next to that guy, because he’ll bring it if he has to.”
As well as the franchise veterans to bring fans on board, the show’s blend of possessed dolls, chainsaws and slapstick, crash-zoomed gore went down well with the audience both at the event and online – the show was trending on Twitter for most of this morning.
The show premieres in the US on 31st October, a date that we’ll be surprised if a UK broadcaster or streaming service doesn’t match.
