Frozen 2 has broken half a million sales, as it is released on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD for the first time.
Clocking up 201,000 sales in the past week (78 per cent of which were on disc) the sequel has now shifted 530,300 copies in just three weeks, according to the UK’s Official Film Chart – the only weekly film chart to take into account both digital and physical sales.
The success builds on its near-record debut, with a whopping 218,700 digital downloads racked up in its first week – the second best opening digital week after, topped only by Avengers: Endgame, which claimed 335,400 in August 2019.
Indeed, nothing can stop Anna and Elsa as they make another Chart appearance as the double pack of Frozen and Frozen 2 makes its debut at Number 9 – a similar boost to the one that saw Trolls enter the Top 10, just as its sequel, Trolls: World Tour, becomes one of the first films to be available on digital stores early while cinemas are temporarily closed.
The week’s highest new entry is Jumanji: The Next Level, debuting at Number 2 through digital downloads alone. The sequel sees the gang return to rescue one of their own, braving new, unknown territories to escape the world’s most dangerous game.
Knives Out (3) and Bloodshot (4) hold onto their positions for a second week as Le Mans ‘66 drops three places to Number 5, while Downton Abbey: The Movie rebounds three places to Number 6. Rocketman returns to the Top 10 at Number 7, and Joaquin Phoenix’s Oscar-winning Joker lands at Number 8.
Read on for the full top 10, plus this week’s Official Film Chart show, which includes a behind-the-scenes look at Blue Story, which is available to Download & Keep from 13th April.
